Films directed in Scotland

Scotland is a territory which inspired a lot of film director. The non-industrialized landscapes are real inspiration sources.

Sam Mendes, the director of the last James Bond movie, Skyfall, used for his film two places in Scotland.

The first one is the valley Glen Coe, well known for a slaughter which happened in 1692.

The second one is the Buachaille Etive Mòr, a famous mountain of the Highlands.

Also, in the Harry Potter Saga, adapt from the J.K. Rowling novels, many Scottish landscapes are used to create fictional places for the movie.

There is another famous place, the Glenfinnan Viaduc, which is the well-known train that the heroes are taken.

The Torren Lochan in Glencoe is also use for an important scene in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
